“The first thing that people must do is visit their polling booths. Armchair politics is to be strictly discouraged. That is what made our city a gutter during 2015 floods. Armchair politicians did not get out of their chairs to reach the then CM because she herself was in an armchair. Even I was an armchair politician for 40 years. If we don’t step out now, we need to be prepared for the worse,” he noted while speaking to DTNext.
Earlier this week, a few political critics had said that Kamal’s Makkal Needhi Maiam’s ideologies would have little effect on the rural districts of the state.
He rubbished the reports saying, “People in every nook and corner of the globe are aware of what is happening around them. When someone drops a bomb in Hiroshima, people in my hometown Paramakudi get notified about the incident. I am sure MNM’s ideologies will create a wave.”
