Later, Ministers D Jayakumar, Sellur Raju, Dindigul Sreenivasan and Kadambur Raju met Pandian and enquired about his health. While addressing reporters, Jayakumar said that Pandian had chronic kidney disease and as he did not undergo dialysis, he had to be taken to the hospital. Initially, Pandian was admitted for breathlessness, but after dialysis his condition stabilised and he will be discharged soon, said Jayakumar. Later in the day, MDMK leader Vaiko, VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan and CPI leader Mutharasan met Pandian. Vaiko said that Pandian is a great politician and had participated in numerous struggles.

“When he spoke, he does not seem to be ill. He is speaking as if he is in a public meeting. He should get well and participate in public life for more years,” said Vaiko.

Mutharasan said that he is fine and will be back in another couple of days.

Thirumavalavan said that doctors told him that Pandian is doing well and will be discharged soon.
