‘Golden’ feat, 40 RFID-fitted BLL wagons rolled out
As many as 40 Bogie Low Platform Longer Container (BLL) wagonswith radio frequency ID (RFID) tags and air brakes manufactured for the first time in the Golden Rock railway workshop were flagged off by the chief manager PN Jha in Tiruchy on Tuesday.

According to a release, the Golden Rock workshop has been manufacturing about 55 models of wagons since 1962. Recently, the workshop got a Rs 132-crore order from CONCOR to manufacture400 BLL wagons with RFID tags and air brakes.
As part of the work, the first batch of 40 wagons was flagged off from the Golden Rock workshop. The rest of the consignment is expected to be despatchedby next year.
Interestingly, the first batch has been delivered within a month of commencement of the work and this was the first time that the workshop has manufactured BLL wagons with RFID tags.
On Tuesday, all the 40 wagons were flagged off from the workshop to CONCOR.
