Conmen posing as cops dupe farmer of Rs 30,000

Police said that Venketesan (39), a farmer, had planned to build a greenhouse for which he had taken a loan of Rs 30,000 from the government two days ago, which he had kept in his house.

Around 3 am, the gang of the six conmen posing as policemen visited Venkatesan’s house and conducted a search there alleging that the victim was involved in an idol theft case.

Thereafter, the gang seized the money he had kept hidden in a mud pot saying that they need it as evidence and then escaped the spot.

Wandiwash north police has registered a case and investigation is on.
