TN govt allots 2 acres at Sardar Patel Road for the burial of DMK Chief, Stalin requests allotment near Anna Memorial

DMK working president MK Stalin has again filed a petition requesting the government to allot land near Anna square to bury the DMK patriarch.

DMK senior leader and MLA Duraimurugan addressed the media outside Kauvery Hospital saying that, DMK working President MK Stalin, Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi and MK Alagiri visited TN CM at his residence in Greenways road today evening. 

"The Karunanidhi family had gone to request for official land allotment at Kamarajar Promenade at Marina Beach Road near Anna Memorial," revealed Duraimurugan.

However, Tamil Nadu government in the press release stated that they have allotted 2 acres of government land at Sardar Patel road opposite Anna University to bury DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi.

TN CM Edappadi K Palaniswami also mentioned that due to ongoing legal battle for land on Kamarajar Promenade at Marina Beach Road, they will be unable to allot land for the burial of late former CM M Karunanidhi. 

The government has agreed to give full support from the TN Police for the public to pay their last respects to Kalaignar Karunanidhi at Rajaji Hall, Omandular Govt estate, Anna Salai. 

TN CM Palaniswami also agreed to give full state honours for the last rites of the late former CM.
