New railway time table released
Southern Railway (SR) has announced an Antyodaya express train to Sengottai from Tambaram, extended a few and speeded up 18 express trains, on Monday.

Releasing its time table for 2018, which comes to effect from midnight August 14, SR announced that Antyodaya daily express train no 16189 via main line will leave Tambaram at 7.00 hrs to reach Sengottai at 22.30 and train no 16190 will leave Sengottai at 06.00 hrs and reach Tambaram at 22.15 hrs in the return direction. Date of introduction of the daily train comprising 16 general second class coaches would be notified later, a release from SR said.
Train No 15630/15629 Guwahati – Chennai Egmore - Guwahati Weekly Express and train no 15930/15929 Dibrugarh – Chennai Egmore – Dibrugarh Weekly Express have been extended to Tambaram. Train no 76842/841 Cuddalore – Vriddhachalam – Cuddalore Passengers would be extended to Tiruppadirippuliyur, while train no. 76853/854 Nagore - Tiruchchirappalli – Nagore Passengers extended to Karaikkal, all to decongest the main terminals.
SR has also speed up a dozen and a half trains, including 16352 Nagercoil – Mumbai CSMT (BW) and 16191 Tambaram- Tirunelveli Antyodaya up by 60 Minutes. Mumbai CSMT – Nagercoil (W) has been speeded up by 45 minutes, while 16340 Nagercoil - Mumbai CSMT (4 days a Week) has been speeded up by 30 minutes.
The zone has also revised the departure and arrival timings of around a dozen express trains at Chennai Central and Egmore terminals. Changes have also been made in the operation of suburban trains in Chennai division.
