Addressing reporters in Chennai, Dhinakaran said that the state government had completely forgotten the concept of water management. “River, ponds and other water bodies should be maintained, but the state government had just allowed smuggling of sand from dried river beds,” said Dhinakaran.
Government had earlier said that they will desilt the water bodies in Delta districts, but did not do even a single work and there is no detail of the amount allotted for desilting works. “What happened to the Rs 400 crore allotted by the state government for desilting the water bodies in Delta districts?” questioned Dhinakaran.
When asked about the stickers put up on the relief materials given to people staying in relief camps, Dhinakaran replied that slaves are ruling the state government and people are tortured to maximum extent. “Placing stickers is the expression of the slave government,” he said.
When asked about the frequent arrests of activists who speak against the government, he replied that government is in fear of falling down and so is taking drastic steps to cover their follies. The arrests of social activists like Thirumurugan Gandhi shows the failure of the government, said Dhinakaran.
