The leader, who was joined by party cadre, garlanded the statue of freedom fighter Poolithevan at Nerkattumseval in Tirunelveli district. Speaking to media persons, Dhinakaran said, “During those days, several people sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom. However, at present, it is unfortunate that the rulers had forgotten such significant contributions of freedom fighters. They are not concerned about the people.”
The AMMK leader said his party cadre would take a vow before the freedom fighter to soon end the rule of the ‘anti-people’ AIADMK government.
“For the people to benefit from more welfare schemes and better governance, the AMMK should come to power,” Dhinakaran said, besides seeking support from the people to bring back the rule of former Chief Ministers MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa.
