According to police, the victim – Mahesh (name changed) from Palur near Ambur, studied in a government higher secondary school at Madanur on Vellore Highway. He reportedly had issues with a few of his classmates as the latter often teased Mahesh for talking to a girl in school, who was his relative.
Irked by the act of his classmates, the victim verbally abused the boys who taunted him. Later, the abused reportedly turned violent between Mahesh, his friends and the boys who taunted him. The school teachers intervened and pacified both the groups and sent them home.
However, the issue did not end there. When the victim was out of the school premises, relatives of the boy, who had issues with Mahesh caught hold of him, tied him to a pole and beat him up for attacking their son.
The entire episode was reportedly filmed and uploaded on social media by a student. Mahesh’s parents registered a complaint at Ambur taluk police station and admitted their son to Ambur government hospital. Based on the complaint, police arrested Muniraj (48) and Singaram (57). They are on a look out for the parents and the boy who initiated the whole episode.
