Former Union Minister MK Alagiri, who was sidelined from DMK by his father and late DMK leader M Karunanidhi, has stared a peace rally to the memorial of the former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

On September 3 while meeting reporters, he had mentioned that he would announce his next more after the rally.

After days of threats to break the party and strong statements, the sacked south zone organising secretary of the DMK and the son of late DMK president M Karunanidhi, Alagiri on August 30, made a U-turn by saying that he was ready to accept the leadership of MK Stalin if he was readmitted into the party fold.

The former Union Minister, while expressing his willingness to work alongside the top party leadership, apparently referring to Stalin, said that he and his supporters have been reiterating it.

After being sidelined from DMK, the former Union Minister's up-coming peace rally will be his first move in Tamil Nadu politics. He has been frequently voicing his opinions about the party after the demise of his father.
