Posters decry delay in rail overbridge

The level crossing was posing a lot of hardships to locals going to different places like Alangayam, Chekkumedu, Pallipattu and Nimmiyampattu from the bus stand. Meanwhile, railway officials closed it on September 11, 2017, and promised to construct an overbridge at the spot. 

Subsequently, trenches were dug up and this prevented motorists from sneaking through the railway gate. As the works for the bridge has not started even after a lapse of one year, posters criticising the lethargy of officials surfaced in different parts of Vaniyambadi. 

The posters also hailed the delay as the first anniversary of the non-functional level-crossing. The posters, signed by the youth and public, stated they hope that the gate would be opened for public use one day.
