The Justice A Arumughaswamy Commission of Inquiry, probing the circumstances leading to former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s death has today decided to send summons to Dr. Richard Beale along with doctors from Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.

Dr Richard Beale was specially flown in from London to treat the former CM J Jayalaithaa.

The probe committee plans to put forth their findings by the end of October 2018.

Earlier this week, Ramesh Chand Meena, principal secretary to former Governor Vidya Sagar Rao, deposed before the Justice A Arumughasamy enquiry commission probing into the death of former CM Jayalalithaa at the Kalas Mahal on Tuesday.

Appearing before the commission on Tuesday, the IAS officer was reportedly asked to recount details from the two visits made by Rao to the hospital in October 2016.

It may be noted that the former Governor’s account of events came into question earlier in the probe.

Dr Sivakumar, a relative of Sasikala, stated that Rao had seen Jayalalithaa during a physiotherapy session but was not acknowledged by the latter.

However, this version differed with Rao’s book that stated the former chief minister had waved to him from behind the glass door.
