Man poisons wife, children, hangs self in Tirunelveli

The deceased were identified as A Mahendran (36), his wife Revathi (29), and their children, Karthivel (7) and Asmitha (3), all of Thiruthangal in Sivakasi. 

While Mahendran was found hanging, his wife and the two children were found lying dead on the floor with froth coming out of their mouths. Enquiries revealed that Mahendran poisoned his wife and the children with insecticide-laced milk and then committed suicide. 

Finding their door shut, Mahendran’s mother-in-law Petchiammal (60) and other relatives, residing in the same locality, peeked in and found Mahendran hanging. According to sources, Mahendran, who worked as a designer in a Tirupur-based garment factory, was suffering from jaundice and did not report to work for nearly a month.

He stayed in his mother-in-law’s house and was undergoing treatment at a local clinic.  Based on a complaint by Petchiammal, VK Puram police have filed a case.
