Valuables stolen from nurse’s house in Ambur
Twenty sovereigns of gold and Rs 30,000 cash were stolen from the house of a government hospital nurse near Ambur near here on Thursday night.

Police said that Saraswathi (57) wife of Radhamani of Alankuppam near Ambur, was working as a senior nurse at the Ambur government hospital. As her husband was out of town, she locked her home while she went for work on Thursday night.
When she returned home on Friday, she was shocked to find that the house had been broken into. The lock on the front grill gate including the almirah in the bedroom has been broken. 20 sovereigns of gold jewelry and Rs. 30,000 cash kept in the almirah were both missing.
She immediately contacted the Ambur taluk police and complained. Following which they started investigations. A case has been registered and a search is on.
