The police said Sikkarasan, the labourer from Sengulam village in Bargur forest area was diagnosed HIV positive a couple of years ago.
His wife Chitra, 39, had also left him six years ago over a family dispute.

Neighbours found the three lying unconscious and informed Anthiyur police. They were immediately rushed to Anthiyur Government Hospital, however, Megala died the same day.
Police said Sudha died on Sunday morning, while Sikkarasan is critical. Anthiyur police have registered a case.
