Work on manimandapam for Dr B Sivanthi Aditanar to begin soon
The construction of a manimadapam for Dr B Sivanthi Aditanar, former Director of ‘The Daily Thanthi group’, will begin soon. The message came on his 83rd birth anniversary when scores of people offered floral tributes to his portrait.

With all necessary infrastructure facilities, the manimandapam will be constructed in memory of the late Sivanthi Aditanar.
During the MGR birth centenary celebration organised by the AIADMK in Thoothukudi on November 22 in 2017, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy had announced that a manimandapam would be built for the late Dr B Sivanthi Aditanar.
The State government has set aside funds of Rs 1.34 crore to construct the structure at Veerapandiyanpattinam village in Tiruchendur taluk. Now, the government has called for tenders before commencing the construction, Thoothukudi Collector Sandeep Nanduri said, while talking to reporters on Monday.
B Sivanthi Aditanar was a recipient of the Padma Shri for his contributions to the society in various fields. He was also an educationist, industrialist and philanthropist.
