Condemning the ruling AIADMK for mulling hike in the monthly bus pass fare, Stalin said the hike in monthly bus pass fare, which was essential for the daily commute of poor and economically weaker sections, would push the transport corporations in to deep loss and render them insolvent.

Recalling the bus fare hike the ruling AIADMK had given effect to in 2011 and recently in 2018 and resultant fall in patronage transport corporation had suffered, Stalin said, adding the upward revision of bus fare was proof of the mismanagement of the ruling AIADMK.

A live example of the inefficiency of AIADMK, which contemplates month bus pass fare hike, was keeping 448 newly procured buses idle for CM Edappadi K Palaniswami to flag them off, the LoP remarked, adding that the ‘sadistic’ mindset of the AIADMK regime was evident from it hiking bus fare 100% and pushing people in to hardship.
