Youth held for attacking woman cop

The accused identified as Dilip Kumar (24), son of Balchander of Konvattam in Vellore, was in love with the 23-year-old constable. He proposed his love to her a month ago. But, the cop refused to accept his proposal. However, Dilip continued to pester her to accept his love and marry him.

Recently, when the woman was passing through a service road leading to Vellore Collectorate from Green Circle, Dilip Kumar along with his father Balchander, mother Rajila and relatives Vikky, Anupriya and Banupriya intercepted and tried to convince her. This led to an argument which ended in Dilip’s family attacking the constable. She was later admitted to Vellore Government Medical College Hospital.

Acting on a complaint from the victim, Vellore north police registered a case and arrested Dilip Kumar. A search is on for five relatives of Dilip Kumar.
