It is said that five persons of a same family, including a six-month-old baby, Mithran, were injured in a head-on collision involving a car and a two-wheeler at Burma Colony, in Guntoor.

Among the injured, the toddler was said to have been admitted to a private hospital at Thillai Nagar in a critical condition. It is said that the hospital authorities had been collecting huge sums from the parents for the child’s treatment. When the relatives demanded to show the baby, the hospital staff reportedly did not give proper response. This triggered suspicion in family members, who somehow found out that the baby had died.

Later, the family members along with the relatives besieged the hospital and demanded action against the doctors and the staff. They claimed that the baby had died two days back, but the hospital kept on demanding money from the family in the guise of giving treatment. Meanwhile, family members demanded arrest of the ambulance driver, who pressured the parents to take the injured to the private hospital at Thillai Nagar, allegedly to get commission.

On information, the Thillai Nagar police rushed to the spot and held talks and pacified the protesting relatives. Later, the child’s body was handed over the body to the family. Subsequently, the parents lodged a complaint against the hospital.
