‘SL troops will be out of Tamil areas by Dec’
Sri Lankan minister for resettlement, rehabilitation and Hindu religious affairs DM Swaminathan has said that the island nation government has proposed to build 28,000 houses to benefit the Tamils, who lost their dwellings during the ethnic conflict.

Interacting with media persons on the sidelines of a function organised at the Sai Baba temple on the Tiruvannamalai Girivalam path here on Friday, he said that the Lankan government has decided to withdraw its forces from Tamil areas and resettle Tamils in the locations where they were living before the ethnic conflict by the end of December.
When asked about the Sabarimala temple issue on allowing women into the shrine, the Hindu religious affairs minister said that there was no disagreement in the fact that women should be allowed to worship at the hill shrine. However, the situation at present does not seem to favourable in that state for the move.
