Speaking in Thanjavur, Stalin said, “The term company has a decent connotation and hence we accept it. The State government is a sheer circus tent. While the ring master is in Delhi, the
owner of the circus is Palaniswami.”
Stalin continued his attacks on the Chief Minister by saying that he acts as if he were a buffoon, who entertains the audience along with the animals. “This is not a government but a tent that loots the public,” he claimed.
Stating that Palaniswami became the Chief Minister only after their party chief J Jayalalithaa passed away and her associate V K Sasikala was imprisoned, the Leader of Opposition said, “But even then there is a regulation that the relatives of an elected member can not be given a public tender. Palaniswami had violated this rule and gave the highway projects to his close relatives. There is a scam worth Rs 3,200 crore in the road contract project.”
He further said that the High Court’s direction to the CBI to probe into the charges was itself a shame on the Chief Minister. Several other ministers, including the Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, are under the watch, he added.
Meanwhile, he called upon the DMK cadre to be ready for the elections and collect funds for the same, as there exists a possibility of polls for both the parliament and the assembly to be held soon.
Jayakumar mocks Oppn leader’s CM aspirations
DMK leader M K Stalin is spending sleepless nights with dreams of becoming the Chief Minister. He is also hoping for early assembly polls along with next year’s Lok Sabha polls, but his dreams will continue to be a mirage, Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar said on Friday. Addressing the party workers here, Jayakumar said both Stalin and TTV Dhinakaran are eagerly waiting to thwart the AIADMK government. “This is not going to happen and this Amma government will be in power completing its full five-year tenure,” he said. Referring to a recent comment by Dhinakaran that he was “Mike Kumar” for his fondness for publicity, Jayakumar said he was Mike Tyson trained for tough bouts.
