Defamation case: Stalin and Anbumani appear in Special Court

MK Stalin and Anbumani appeared before the Special Court in defamation cases against them.

In connection with the defamation case filed against them, DMK President MK Stalin and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss appeared before Special Court in unison.

Totally seven cases were filed against Stalin in 2012, when he pointed out the blunders committed by former Chief Minister J Jayalalitha.

Two weeks ago, Madras High Court directed Stalin to appear before Special Court in person, while admitting his petition to quash the defamation case.

Stalin appeared and obtained exemption from appearing in person. The next hearing of the case has been postponed to October 31.  After appearing in the Special Court, Stalin in his statement said that he had faced innumerable case like Tada, Poda and Misa, and he can't be intimidated by this.

Anbumani Ramadoss also appeared before the court for the defamation case filed against him by Minister Udayakumar. He said that taking repressive measures like defamation case and arresting protestors become the practice of the ruling government, and he further said democracy is killed
