Rly to follow Sunday schedule on Deepavali
Give a serious thought to your train ticket booking plans if you are one of those rail travellers hoping that the reservation counters would be empty on Deepavali day for you to book the return ticket.

All ticket reservation counters in Southern Railway (SR) would follow Sunday’s pattern of working on that day. The counters would be open only from 8 am to 2 pm on Tuesday, November 6.
Meanwhile, the Southern Railway conducted a special drive at 49 locations and apprehended 17 touts/agents for unauthorised e-ticketing. The officials also recovered 319 live tickets valued Rs 4.85 lakh. Over 130 personal identity cards used by touts for illegal ticketing were also seized during the drive. RPF has also got in touch with IRCTC to deactivate the fake IDs of the touts.
Special train to Rameswaram
The Southern Railway also announced one-way special train (No. 06060) from Kochueveli to Rameswaram. Train no 06060 will leave Kochuveli at 19.15 hrs on November 5 and reach Rameswaram at 07.45 hrs the next day.The train comprising eight second sleeper and two AC tier-III and class-II sitting coaches would have stoppages at Kollam, Kundara, Kottarakara, Avaneeswaram, Punalur, Tenmalai, Aryankavu Halt, Sengottai, Tenkasi, Kadayanallur, Pambakovilsandy, Sankarankovil, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputhur, Sivakasi, Tiruttangal, Virudhunagar, Arupukkottai, Manamadurai, Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram and Mandapam. Advance reservation for the above train is open.
