Novel punishment: 16-yr-old ordered to regulate traffic
A juvenile court magistrate punished a 16-year-old to control traffic for two days in connection with an accident case.

The 16-year-old boy was made to regulate vehicular traffic along with other police personnel at the Ega Theatre junction on Poonamallee High Road from 8 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm on Saturday. The Class 10 student, who does not have valid licence, hit a two-wheeler of a woman in which she suffered a fracture in her hand in January.
The trial in this case concluded recently at the juvenile court and the boy was given the punishment. Police said that he also created awareness among the motorists on the dangers of not wearing a helmet and asked them to obey traffic rules.
