Cyclone 'Gaja' likely to cross Chennai-Nagapattinam coast
Cyclonic storm ‘Gaja’ is expected to cross between Nagapattinam and Chennai by November 15th morning.

Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forcasted Cyclonic storm ‘Gaja’ is expected to cross between Nagapattinam and Chennai by forenoon of 15th November. Cyclonic storm “GAJA” now lies about 730 km East-northeast of Chennai over Westcentral and adjoining Eastcentral & Southeast Bay of Bengal, and now moves with the speed of 08 kmph.
Indian Meteorological deparment said in its report gale wind of 80-90kmph and heavy rain will hit Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Puducherry.
The fishermen are advised not to venture sea, and coastal dwellers are advised to move to safer places.
“The government has taken preventive measures to face the disaster caused by the cyclone. The fishermen who went for deep-sea fishing will be alerted about the cyclone with the help of the Indian Coast Guard,” Commissioner of Revenue Administration R Sathyagopal told the media in Tirunelveli on Sunday.
