4 succumb to swine flu in Coimbatore
Coimbatore continues to witness swine flu deaths, with the spate claiming four more lives at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) in the last 24 hours. One more youth died of viral fever in Coimbatore.

Sivarajan, 52, was down with severe fever and was admitted to a private hospital a few days ago. However, his condition worsened and was shifted to CMCH, where he was diagnosed with swine flu. However, Sivarajan succumbed to flu on Thursday.
In another incident, Michiammal, 60, a native of Ooty, had visited her daughter’s residence in Coimbatore and developed the fever. Michiammal received treatment in CMCH on November 8. After treatment, she got discharged and returned to Ooty. However, Michiammal fell ill again and visited a Primary Health Centre in the hills. She was then moved to CMCH, where the elderly woman succumbed to swine flu on Wednesday night.
Two others, Padmavathi, 70, from Athipalli in Gudalur and Anand, 47, from Tirupur district died of swine flu without responding to treatment at CMCH on Thursday. Moreover, Ticky, 20, hailing from Bihar and working as a labourer at an industrial unit in Saravanampatty, died of viral fever at CMCH.
Similarly, a three-year-old girl child from Needamangalam area died on Wednesday in Tiruvarur medical college hospital due to suspected swine flu.
Nearly 65 persons have lost their lives to swine flu and other viral fevers in Coimbatore in the last two months.
