Barring a few incidents of tree falls resulting in disruption to traffic and simple damages to houses, the cyclone spared the western districts from causing any major damage like in the coastal regions.

Tourists to The Nilgiris returned disappointed as boat rides at the Boat House remained suspended following rain. Most of the tourist destinations including Botanical Garden, Rose Park and other spots wore a deserted look without tourists.

Traders said that they recorded a dull business over this weekend due to continuing rains in the hill district. In Salem, trees got uprooted in five places disrupting electric supply in various residential neighbourhoods. Heavy winds brought down five trees located at Yercaud veterinary hospital, Nanjakuttai, Vellakarai, Yercaud-Kuppanur Road and in Botanical Garden area.

The highways department and electricity board staff removed the fallen trees within half an hour by using machinery. The tree fall, however, led to traffic disruptions for a while. As it was raining continuously, tourists were found in fewer numbers at the Yercaud hill station.

In Coimbatore too, the forest department barred tourists from visiting Monkey falls.  Farmers claimed that they have suffered crop damage as heavy winds submerged crops ready for harvest.
