In a sit-down with a television channel, Jeyanandh said that, the reason pictures were not released was because the ailing former Chief Minister did not want the images of her in the hospital to be made public.

Jeyanandh also spoke of the night of her hospitalisation on September 22. He said that on hearing the news he rushed to Apollo hospitals and was able to view Jayalalithaa through the glass viewing door after she regained consciousness.

On the controversy surrounding the veracity of the initial press release that stated that Jayalalithaa had been hospitalised due to fever and dehydration, Jeyanandh said that the reasons stated were factual and that to his knowledge Jayalalithaa also had suffered from lung infection.

Regarding the visitors to the hospital, Jeyanandh said that despite the controversy there are hundreds of individuals including doctors, nurses and high-ranking government officials who had seen and interacted with Jayalalithaa over the course of her hospitalisation. He added that all those who were witness to her have deposed before the enquiry commission.
