2 women die of swine flu in Kovai
Two more women succumbed to swine flu at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) on Monday night.

Twenty-two year old Baby, wife of Vadivelrajan from Tirupur was down with fever and took treatment at a private hospital in the neighbourhood. As she was diagnosed with swine flu, the woman was shifted to the CMCH on November 17. Despite treatment, she succumbed without responding to the flu on Monday night.
In a similar incident, Veerammal, 50, from Palanigoundanur in Pollachi was admitted on November 18, after she tested positive for swine flu while undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Though treated in a special ward, Veerammal’s health condition worsened and she too died.
With this, the death toll due to swine flu, dengue and viral fevers has touched 62 in the last two months in western region. As many as 100 persons, including 44 for swine flu, two for dengue and 54 for viral fevers, were admitted for treatment in the CMCH.
