The constitutional body is biased to the BJP-led Centre and is helping the AIADMK government to survive without majority, Vettrivel alleged. “Media reports are making rounds that the EC is all set to seek a report from state government regarding the conduct of elections to the 20 vacant assembly seats, now it is clear and evident that the EC is prejudiced and once again take action based on the state government report,” the former MLA told DT Next.
The only job of EC is to conduct polls so that there is no political or constitutional crisis and this is outright murder of democracy, Vetrivel said.
Ahead of RK Nagar bypoll, the frozen Two Leaves symbol was assigned to the ruling party and then the election date was announced immediately leaving no time for theAMMK to appeal in the court, Vettrivel alleged.
