Man and 6-month-old die in road accident, mother serious
A homeopathy doctor and his six-month-old baby were killed on the spot, and his wife who was riding pillion suffered serious injuries when the two-wheeler they were hit a lorry near KV Kuppam on the Katpadi – Gudiyattam road on Wednesday evening.

Police said the doctor Liaqath Ali (29), his wife Taslim Kauser and their six-month son, Rokkiah, were returning to Vellore from KV Kuppam. When their vehicle was at a curve near PK Puram, it was rammed by an oncoming lorry, killing Liaqath Ali and his six-month old son on the spot.
KV Kuppam MLA G Loganathan, who was passing that spot stopped his vehicle and assisted locals in rushing Taslim Kauser to the hospital. KV Kuppam police have registered a case and are investigating.
Two killed in road accident
Two persons were killed on the spot, when the two-wheeler they were riding rammed into a lorry on the Bangalore-Chennai National Highway near Natrampalli on Wednesday.
Natrampalli police identified the duo as Rajkumar (24) from Gudiyattam, and Rajesh, an engineering student from Chennai.
The duo was on their way to Vellore on a two-wheeler when their vehicle rammed into a lorry moving in front near Kallar. Both of them died on the spot. Natrampalli police sent their bodies to the Vaniyambadi GH for post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
20 injured as bus overturns
Twenty passengers were injured after the driver of a mini bus lost control, sending it tumbling into a ditch near Gudiyattam on Wednesday.
Paradarami police said when the bus was crossing R Venketapuram village, the driver suddenly lost control and the vehicle overturned in a ditch. Pradarami police, who rushed to the spot, sent the injured to the Gudiyattam GH. Police are investigating.
