The people are extremely angry with the government, he added. He also asked for more compensation to the affected people.
Kamal commenced his visit from Pudukkottai. He met the people at Gandharvakottai where they complained that their local MLA has not visited them so far.
“Individuals have executed greater relief works which had not been done by the government. Those who were rich stand on the streets now without anything left for them and struggling for food. This should be declared as a national disaster,” he added.
He said that he had spoken to his actor friends like Amitabh Bachchan and Amir Khan and asked them to stress the government to declare it a national disaster.
Appreciates Tangedco workers
When Kamal Haasan was at Uranipuram village in Thanjavur district, he saw the Tangedco employees continuing their works. Soon, he stopped his convoy and appreciated their works. He told them that they are doing a brilliant job and considered them as the real heroes. Subsequently, he took a group photowith them.
