Four killed as car rams truck near Dindigul
Four friends from Bengaluru, who were on their way to attend a wedding in Virudhunagar, were killed after the car in which they were travelling rammed the rear side of a truck near Dindigul in the wee hours of Sunday.

The deceased were identified as P Manjunathan (26), V Harish (24), R Logesh (28) and V Babu (23). While three people succumbed to injuries on the spot, the other victim died on the way to the government hospital, sources said.
The accident took place near Thadikombu on Karur–Dindigul National Highway in Dindigul district when the car attempted to overtake the truck on the left extreme of the bypass road, said police officers after investigation. The car was completely mangled due to the impact of the collision.
The victims, all of them engineering graduates, were on the way to their friend’s wedding at Aruppukkottai in Virudhunagar district from Bengaluru.
Dindigul Superintendent of Police (DSP) R Sakthivel inspected the accident spot and held inquiries.
The flow of traffic was affected on the stretch for a while until the mangled remains of the car was cleared, sources said.
The Thadikombu police have filed a case and investigating. The bodies of victims were sent to the Dindigul Government Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
