Temporary postponement of indefinite strike, JACTO-GEO informs Madurai HC
JACTO-GEO informed the Madurai bench of Madras High Court that they had decided to postpone the date of their indefinite strike.

Madras High Court on Monday dismissed the plea seeking ban on indefinite strike announced by JACTO-GEO, while the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court decided to consider the urgent hearing of the plea seeking to prohibit indefinite strike of JACTO-GEO organization. At the time of hearing, the representatives of JACTO-GEO informed the Madurai bench that they had decided to postpone the strike, concerning the upcoming half-yearly examination.
The Madras High dismissed the plea and stated that the government knows how to handle the issue, and asked the government to file a petition.
Earlier, both the state ministers and the opposition leader MK Stalin requested the government employees not to initiate the strike at a time when Cyclone Gaja relief works are on.
The JACTO -GEO had also been demanding the long-pending dues, including the pension of retired employees and the arrears to be paid as per the wage revision over the past seven years. Government employees have also demanded reintroduction of the old pension scheme.
