Two months ago, stakeholders convened to add the finishing touches to the policy. Now, with the sign-off pending, there are talks that Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman could be releasing it at the GIM, said a source.
The policy will give a boost to the aerospace sector and enable the setting up of infrastructure in the 267-acre land allotted for the aerospace park in Sriperumbudur.
In June this year, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had said Tamil Nadu would soon be coming out with an aerospace and defence policy that would benefit companies planning to invest in these two sectors.
The government machinery has swung into action, in an effort to put its best foot forward so that the GIM 2019 will exceed the outcomes achieved in the first edition of the event held in 2015 under the aegis of late CM J Jayalalithaa.
