Police seize 2 kg ganja, 6 youth held

The arrested were identified as Sakim Shiek (19), Nitish (22), Airshad Alam (22), Satish (22), Ajay (19) and Seduraj (20), all from Chrompet.

The Chrompet police got information on ‘suspicious activities’ at a house in Maleshwarar street in Nagalkeni, near Chrompet and placed the house under watch for several days and found that ganja was being distributed to college and school students. The gang was arrested after that.

Meanwhile, the police seized two tonnes of gutka from a godown near Old Mahabalipuram Road and arrested two men on Tuesday. 

The arrested were identified as Murugan (38) and Divakar (25). The police team, based on a tip-off, raided a shop in Selaiyur run by Murugan and seized 100 kg of gutka.
