Addressing newspersons at the Thoothukudi airport, Velumani said the Karnataka Government was not even bothered to obey the Supreme Court’s order. “The Supreme Court has directed Karnataka to obey its order on the Cauvery water sharing dispute. However, the neighbouring state has ignored it.”
Further, the minister said he was on poll duty deputed by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam to carry out works in Ottapidaram assembly constituency in Thoothukudi district. He said that he would execute the task assigned to him by the party high command.
Meanwhile, DMK treasurer Duraimurugan voiced similar comments against the Karnataka Government stating that it was needless for the TN government to hold talks with the Karnataka government on the Mekedatu issue, as the later had already disappointed TN in the Cauvery water issue.
