Initial investigations revealed that there was a dispute between the woman and her husband, a TNSTC conductor, on constructing a house in their native place in Pudukkottai.
It is said, M Gomathi alias Viramani (40) and her husband Murugan (44) along with their two children Nandhini (16) and Saravanan (14) were residing in a rented house in Ayyampatti village. There used to be frequent quarrel between the couple over construction of a house at Murugan’s native Avoor in Pudukkottai and Gomathi has been opposing the plan as she wanted to be in Navalpattu. But, recently Murugan went ahead with building works in his village without the consent of his wife Gomathi with the support of his son.
In this backdrop, their daughter Nandhini on Saturday morning on finishing her preparations for the examination tried to enter the bedroom. But she found it locked from the inside. As there was no response from her mother, Nandhini peeped through the window and was shocked to see her mother handing dead from the ceiling and her brother motionless on the bed.
She raised an alarm and neighbours broke open the door and found Saravanan dead with his throat slit. Murugan, who was in the night shift on hearing the news rushed back.
On information, Navalpattu police rushed to the spot and recovered both the bodies for post mortem. Further investigations are underway in this case.
