Politicians, writers condole death of Tamil laureate Aravanan

DMK president M K Stalin has condoled the demise of renowned K P Aravanan, calling it an irreparable loss to Tamil literature. Describing him as a Tamil scholar who had a scientific and futuristic approach to developing Tamil language and taking it to the next level, Stalin said the deceased scholar who had made commendable contribution as member of syllabus committees of various universities, had written 50 books in various fields, including linguistics and sociology.


MDMK leader Vaiko in his statement said that Aravanan constantly thought about the upliftment of Tamil community and his writings too reflected the same. Vaiko also recalled the period Aravanan worked in Senegal and wrote about Africa in Tamil, which brought insights of the people and condition of Africa.


VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan in his statement said that the death of Aravanan is a huge loss to the Tamil literature fraternity. Thirumavalan recalled the contributions of Aravanan as a Vice Chancellor to the education of marginalised sections of the society in Tirunelveli district. State Congress president Su Thirunavukkarasar also condoled the demise of the Tamil scholar. Tamil lyricist, Vairamuthu, along with other Tamil poets visited Aravanan’s house and paid homage.
