Addressing reporters in Erode district, on Sunday, the Minister said that students are keen on keeping their school campuses clean just like how they maintain cleanliness in their houses. “They are never forced to do so,” he said while replying to a query if teachers punish students by entrusting the cleaning job to them as a punishment.
Clarifying on speculations regarding Chemistry question paper leak, he said, “Two students have been booked. They broke open the lock but were caught on time. The paper was not leaked.”
The Minister further moved on to brief about the video conferencing teaching method and assured that the concept will be introduced in February, 2019. “Teachers will conduct classes, on the subjects they specialise in, via video conferencing for 1,000 schools at once. By the end of January 2019, a studio will be set up at Anna Library in Chennai,” he added.
Earlier on Sunday, Sengottaiyan laid the foundation stone and participated in the ‘bhoomi pooja’ for various road laying works and park projects in the villages falling under Gobichettipalayam constituency of Erode district.
