Speaking to reporters after meeting the two accused he said, both were deeply depressed due to the lack of action by the Governor. “Both hoped that the Governor would act on the Assembly resolution which recommended their release. That this did not happen even four months after the resolution was passed have totally depressed both of them,” Pughazhendhi said. Hence, they plan to move the Madras High Court seeking permanent parole after the Pongal holidays, he added.

He also added that they would approach the state government to seek other alternatives for their release.
