According to AMMK sources, the latest move comes in the wake of the principal opposition party targeting Sasikala and Dhinakaran.

“In retaliation, our functionaries have been advised to campaign against DMK leader Stalin. The campaign has already been intensified,” a source said.

“The public in Tiruvarur are upset due to the delay in conducting the bypoll. The voters know that both the AIADMK and the DMK had connived to delay the election. Our party leadership has instructed to expose the DMK on various issues. We will reach out to the voters,” said an AMMK organising secretary.

Meanwhile, the ruling AIADMK has announced that it will conduct debates in all the vacant Assembly seats. Former minister and party spokesperson Vaikai Chelvan is to preside over the debates.

The leadership qualities of ‘Amma’ (former CM J Jayalalithaa) is the topic that will discussed by the cadre, who have been asked to ensure public participation in all the party programmes.
