Speaking to reporters after worshiping at the Mahalingaswamy Temple at Tiruvidaimarudur near Kumbakonam on Sunday, he said there is no alliance with the BJP.
“To support any party there should be an alliance,” he added. He said there has been a good relationship between the state and the Centre.
“However BJP is not in our alliance. Hence there was no question about an alliance with the BJP,” he added.
He said he has been talking only about the rights of Tamil Nadu which were denied by the Union government. Whether it was GST, Cauvery water or Mullaiperiyar issue, NEET the Union government did not help Tamil Nadu. “That is what I also spoke about in the Parliament,” he added.
Replying to a question that there were talks that he was planning to float a new party, the veteran AIADMK leader said he did not have the mettle to start a new party and he was groomed by the founder of AIADMK MGR and bestowed with many posts by former chief minister Jayalalithaa and he remains an ordinary member of the AIADMK.
He said he was talking only about the policies of BJP. The relief for GST due to Tamil Nadu was not paid and many rights have been taken away from the state. Hence we oppose the policies of BJP, he added.
