Dad of 10 molests 4-yr-old

According to police, the accused identified as John Basha (52), a resident of Parandapalli village near Tirupattur, who eked out a living by selling sugar candy, had lured the girl to his house by promising her to give chocolates.

When he tried to misbehave the girl screamed and on hearing her cries locals rushed to the house and rescued the child.

Agitated over the behavior of Basha, residents thrashed the accused before handed him over to the Tirupattur taluk police.

The Tirupattur taluk police, who picked up the candy seller, transferred the case to the local All Women Police, who arrested the accused and booked him under various sections of the Pocso Act.

Further investigations are under way.

The incident has sent shock waves in the region as the accused was a father of ten and the victim was just 4 years old.
