BHEL Tiruchy to focus on emission control
The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchy, plans to capitalise on new business opportunities in several areas, including supply of specialised equipment for meeting the new emission norms and development of technology for conversion of coal to methanol, said R Rajamanohar, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchy, on Saturday.

Unfurling the tri-colour on the 70th Republic Day, Rajamanohar said the state-owned firm is fully geared up to meet the delivery schedules of steam generators for the Kakrapar (Gujarat) and Rajasthan atomic power projects and the development of cutting-edge advanced ultra super critical steam generator technology.
Reaffirming confidence in the capabilities and the commitment of employees, he urged them to work with dedication and team spirit towards achieving the targets earmarked for the year.
Rajamanohar also congratulated the employees who won the Prime Minister’s Shram Awards, Viswakarma Rashtriya Puraskar and BHEL Excel Awards.
“The unit has received several other awards for safety and quality during the year. We have also been consistently giving back to the community through our corporate social responsibility and community development programmes,” he said.
Highlighting the contribution of employees and their family members who volunteered for the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ activities, Rajamanohar stressed on the importance of keeping the surroundings clean to improve the quality of life for the community. “The usage of plastic has also been banned inside the BHEL Tiruchy premises in compliance with the State government’s initiative,” he added.
