DVAC sleuths raid house of tainted inspector, driver
Sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) wing on Tuesday carried out a search in the house of tainted traffic inspector who was caught red-handed while receiving bribe during a vehicle check in Sathyamangalam in Erode district.

Recently, Pathy (48), traffic inspector from Gobi in Erode district was caught when he intercepted a lorry and demanded a bribe, in which two DVAC sleuths disguised as driver and cleaner were travelling, in Sathyamangalam.
According to police, “The cop in the driver’s seat got down and gave chemical-laced notes to him. When Pathy received the money, the DVAC sleuths revealed the truth and sought to take him into custody for an inquiry.”
The inspector, however, gave a slip to the cops while proceeding to the station. “A bystander was even injured, when he rammed his car on him while speeding away,” police added. Since then he was placed under suspension.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a police team led by DVAC DSP Pushparaj carried out a raid in the house of Pathy. The search, which commenced at 8 am was carried out till evening.
A similar raid was carried out by DVAC sleuths in the house of the tainted inspector’s jeep driver Manoj at Sathyamangalam Colony. Police have seized laptop and incriminating documents following the search. Further inquiries are on.
