Collector KS Kandasamy has directed those running children’s homes to register their facilities with the district social welfare office by paying a fee of Rs 3,000 through a cheque drawn in the name of the collector before February 28. Officials warned that those who failed to comply with the order and continue to operate would lose the licence for their facilities and the hostels would also be sealed.
