Couple ends life by jumping in front of train

The deceased couple, Amal P Kumar (19) and Surya Nair (18), both hailing from different areas near Kollam were studying B Com first year at a private college in Adoor.

According to police, “Both the parents, who came to know about their love, expressed their opposition. The girl’s parents had planned to drop her out of college.” The couple decided to elope to Chennai and boarded a train from Kollam on Thursday. As the train reached Coimbatore, at 1.30 am on Friday, the couple alighted at the railway station. “Not knowing what to do next, they decided to end life by jumping in front of a train,” police added.

Police found their identity with their college ID cards. A suicide note stated that their parents would never allow them to get married and expressed their love for each other.
