Vishal met Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at the Secretariat to submit various demands. After meeting Palaniswami, Vishal, while addressing reporters, said, “Government is like God for us and we believe in the government. If government decides to stop piracy, they can do it in a single day.”
He also said that we received complaints that newly released movies are played in government buses and we have registered our complaints with the authorities.
“Being the president of Producers Council I am fighting against the video piracy. When government can ban porn sites, state government with the help of Union government can put an end to video piracy,” said Vishal.
When asked about allegations of Director Vasantha Balan that Vishal came to power with the promise that video piracy will be stopped but no action was taken in his tenure, Vishal replied that let people who criticised him for not taking action on video piracy should first nab a person involved in video piracy and then should criticise him.
“I will be happy if people who criticise me nab persons involved in video piracy. I cannot answer for people sitting idle and criticising me,” said Vishal.
He also appreciated actor cum director R Parthiban for his efforts to bring musicians Ilayaraja and AR Rahman, on a single stage and making ‘Ilayaraja 75’ a huge hit.
