Addressing newspersons in Chennai, Sudhish said: “BJP president Amit Shah is a close friend of DMDK founder Vijayakanth as well as mine. On that basis, we are having talks for forming an alliance.”

“Just like in 2014, a mega alliance will be formed. We are in talks with two or three parties in the State for forming a mega alliance,” he said.

Refuting rumours that his party would go alone at the LS polls, Sudhish said the DMDK will contest in an alliance led by a major national party. He said the presence of his party will strengthen any alliance and that the DMDK will decide on the formation of the next government.

Stating that the alliance will be decided by the end of the month, he said: “The details will be officially announced once our leader Vijayakanth returns from the US after his treatment.”

When asked about the health condition of Vijayakanth, Sudhish replied that he was doing well and will actively participate in the election campaign.
